Ruler Donald Trump’s 25% tariffs on autos from Canada and Mexico will take effect on April 2nd. The tariffs will undoubtedly drive up car prices for United States consumers and harm an already struggling domestic car-manufacturing industry.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has already responded, denouncing the tariffs as representing a “direct attack” on his country’s workers and declared that further retaliatory tariffs are likely. By Jacob M. Thompson| The WinePress News
President Donald Trump, in his latest round of threats and sanctions, is now going after Venezuela and its oil supply, picking up where he left off from his first tenure and continuing to apply aggression towards the oil-centric nation, something the previous Biden administration ramped up in late-2023 as it signaled it was ready to fund yet another military occupation to defend its ‘national interests’ by defending oil-rich neighboring Guyana.
#5 – Trump Nominates Biotech Insider Susan Monarez to Lead CDC
By Veronika Kyrylenko | The New American
President Donald Trump has nominated Dr. Susan Monarez, currently the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), for CDC director. This decision comes after the withdrawal of his initial nominee, Dr. David Weldon, a former Florida congressman known for his anti-establishment stance in medicine. Weldon’s nomination was reportedly retracted due to insufficient support in the Senate.
Monarez’s nomination has raised concerns among those who believe the CDC has strayed from its stated mission, particularly in the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement. Critics argue that her extensive background within the federal health bureaucracy and a heavy focus on technology-driven biosecurity suggests a continuation of the status quo rather than the long-overdue reform. #1 (tie) – Trump Makes Astonishing Statement About U.S. Joining British Commonwealth of Nations as ‘Associate Member’
By Leo Hoehmann | Substack
By itself, this comment could be dismissed as mere trolling. But taken in context with other comments about Canada, some believe we should take Trump at his word. Then there’s the Curtis Yarvin factor
I have often wondered if the media persona surrounding Donald Trump as being a “Russian asset,” has been part of a grand deception.
Watching how he has played the Russia-Ukraine peace talks forces me to consider that Trump’s reputation may be part of a plot to deceive Russia and Putin. Read full article >

By Tom Huddleston Jr. | CNBC
Over the next decade, advances in artificial intelligence will mean that humans will no longer be needed “for most things” in the world, says Bill Gates.
That’s what the Microsoft co-founder and billionaire philanthropist told comedian Jimmy Fallon during an interview on NBC’s “The Tonight Show” in February. At the moment, expertise remains “rare,” Gates explained, pointing to human specialists we still rely on in many fields, including “a great doctor” or “a great teacher.”
But “with AI, over the next decade, that will become free, commonplace — great medical advice, great tutoring,” Gates said. Read full article >

Nearly four years ago, the Biden administration removed Nigeria from a list of countries whose threats to religious freedom are of “particular concern,” but continued attacks on Christians and other religious groups by Islamist militias have prompted calls from local faith leaders and members of the US Congress for the designation to be restored.
In Africa’s most populous nation, a deadly cycle of violence has unfolded for several years, with Christian clergy and laypeople as well as moderate Muslims falling victim to murder and kidnapping. The Christian nonprofit Open Doors recently reported that in 2024 some 3,100 Christians were killed and more than 2,000 kidnapped in Nigeria. Read full article >
