#1 – Israel Declares New Phase of War; Launches Strikes on South Lebanon

Israel’s military has just announced that IDF chief Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi has “approved operational plans as part of the continuation of the war” in Israel’s north against Lebanon’s Hezbollah. Exchanges of fire grew overnight and as of Thursday afternoon heavier airstrikes on southern Lebanon have been reported, as well as more than 40 rockets fired from Lebanon into Israel. #2 – Ukraine Drone Strike on Russia Triggers Massive Explosion

Ukraine used a drone strike overnight to attack Russia, triggering a massive explosion. The media is saying that Kiev targeted a massive Russian weapons stockpile.

“A fire started in Toropets, Tver region, as a result of falling debris from a drone that was repelled by air defense forces,” the Tver regional administration said early Wednesday. The oblast declared a “partial evacuation” due to the large blast and surrounding fires. A social media video showed a huge fireball erupting against the night sky, according to a report by ZeroHedge.  Read full article >

Yesterday, a second cyber-attack exploded Hezbollah walkie-talkies and solar equipment, injuring over 300 people and killing nine. #5 – 2nd Trump Assassination Attempt: Secret Service Admits Golf Course Perimeter Not Secured

Would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh set up to assassinate former President Donald Trump as he played golf because the Secret Service, in the second such failure, did not secure the perimeter around the Trump International Golf Course.

Acting Director Ronald Rowe told reporters in West Palm Beach yesterday that the agency did its job. But he also admitted that the agency did not sweep the perimeter of the course because Trump wasn’t scheduled to play golf. Read full article >

#1 – The Fed Hits the Panic Button and Slashes the Fed Funds Rate

The Federal Reserve’s FOMC slashed the target federal funds rate at its meeting this month, reducing the target rate by 50 basis points from 5.5 percent to 5.0 percent. This was the largest cut to the target rate since March of 2020 in the midst of the Covid Panic.

This cut comes after fourteen months of the FOMC holding the target rate at 5.5 percent. In late 2022, the FOMC was forced to allow interest rates to rise in response to mounting price inflation which hit a year-over-year growth rate of 8.9 percent in June 2022. Read full article >
