A significant scientific study published by Nature found that the imposition of “stay-at-home” orders issued by governments attempting to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 was an ineffective strategy.
“[I]n ~ 98% of the comparisons using 87 different regions of the world we found no evidence that the number of deaths/million is reduced by staying at home,” the study authors wrote. “Regional differences in treatment methods and the natural course of the virus may also be major factors in this pandemic, and further studies are necessary to better understand it.”
The study contradicts the conventional wisdom promoted by the World Health Organization, governmental entities, and the leadership of social media platforms who have limited or censored contrary views.
The results, released Friday, also come at the same time a recent CDC report found that face masks mandates reduce the spread of COVID-19 by less than 2%.
